Working in coworking spaces in Vienna: a rapidly expanding market
Vienna now has over 200 coworking spaces spread across its 23 districts. Demand for flexible working solutions has increased by 35% since 2020, driven by the rise of remote work and the growth of the digital services sector in the Austrian capital.
Prices range from €15 to €45 per day depending on location and included services. Spaces in the 1st district (Innere Stadt) charge premium rates around €35-45, while those in the 3rd, 6th and 9th districts offer more accessible rates between €15 and €25.
Popular districts for Viennese coworking
The 1st district concentrates the most central spaces, close to Stephansplatz and the Ringstrasse. These locations attract international consultants and local entrepreneurs for their prestige and accessibility.
The 3rd district (Landstraße) hosts several large spaces near Wien Mitte and Belvedere. Prices are 20% lower than downtown for equivalent services. The district benefits from excellent transport connections to the airport via the City Airport Train.
Leopoldstadt (2nd) and Alsergrund (9th) are emerging as attractive alternatives. The 9th district, close to the university, attracts a young and tech-oriented clientele. Lower commercial rents allow operators to offer competitive daily rates around €18-22.

Standard equipment and services
Viennese spaces generally include high-speed WiFi, unlimited coffee and tea, and access to meeting rooms for daily bookings. 80% offer individual lockers and 60% provide external screens.
Premium services (color printing, scanning, telephony) are often billed separately between €2 and €5 depending on usage. Some operators include a daily printing credit of 10 black and white pages.
Booking and access conditions
Online booking has become widespread since 2019. Platforms allow you to compare real-time availability and book up to 2 hours before arrival. Payment is made by credit card, with free cancellation possible up to 24 hours before the scheduled date.
Access is generally via code or electronic badge sent by email. Opening hours extend from 7am to 8pm on weekdays, with variations depending on operators. Some spaces offer 24/7 access for an additional fee.

Transport and accessibility
Vienna's metro network (U-Bahn) efficiently serves all coworking districts. A daily public transport pass costs €8 and allows free movement between different spaces.
Schwedenplatz (U1/U4), Westbahnhof (U3/U6) and Praterstern (U1/U2) stations concentrate several spaces within a 500-meter radius. This proximity facilitates client meetings or changing work environments during the day.
